Dad works a lot, and mom works hard at home with everything concerning the children, cooking, and maintenance. We would like babysitting every other week to have some time to reconnect, possibly doing an activity on Friday or Saturday evening. The frequency might increase to once a week, to be discussed. We would have our two sons (5 years and 20 months) taken care of from approximately 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Responsibilities would include preparing dinner (no allergies), playing a bit with them, and going through the bedtime routine. Once they're asleep around 8:30-9 PM, you might clean the kitchen (dishes, sweeping, counters) and/or fold a basket of clean clothes, for example. The children have seldom been babysat in the evenings except occasionally by their grandmother, and they feel sad when we leave. So you would need to be warm and reassuring. They go to daycare and feel comfortable with familiar faces, so we're looking for stability in babysitting (often the same person).
