Job description

With over 11,000 students across 25 elementary and 7 secondary schools, the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CSDCEO) is the largest French-language school network within the counties of Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, and Russell. Various childcare centers are available in our schools, and we offer an Adult Education Program.

General Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the building supervisor, the maintenance worker performs janitorial tasks to ensure cleanliness and safety.

Temporary Full-time Position Working hours: Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Main Tasks:

  • Prepare the building for opening; unlock doors, disable alarms, turn on lights, etc.
  • Conduct inspections and actions inside and outside the building for safety compliance.
  • Maintain entranceways and paths; shoveling, sanding, salting.
  • Ensure proper functioning of potable water systems.
  • Log information per inspection guidelines.
  • Floor maintenance using appropriate equipment.
  • Clean and disinfect various areas.
  • Wash windows, doors, walls, ceilings.
  • Collect and dispose of trash, tidy up, dust.
  • Stock paper and soap dispensers.
  • Handle inventory and report restocks.
  • Perform preventive, reparative, and minor tasks.
  • Assist contractors and respond to emergency requests.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, equivalent to Grade 12.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in French required. CSDCEO may prefer Roman Catholic candidates.
