Energy Safety Canada is Canada's national safety association for the energy sector, dedicated to advancing workplace safety through training, certification, and industry collaboration. We're seeking a seasoned legal professional to provide strategic legal counsel and corporate secretarial services in a part-time (0.6 FTE) role based in Calgary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice on commercial and ethical issues.
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts.
- Manage corporate secretarial duties including Board administration.
- Advise on regulatory, governance, privacy, and HR legal matters.
- Stay current on AI and technology-related legal risks.
- Manage disputes, litigation, and intellectual property matters.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 10 years legal practice with in-house counsel experience.
- Strong corporate and commercial law background.
- Preferred experience as a corporate secretary in a public company.
- Familiarity with employment and privacy law.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
